1. Consider why Online Schooling may be for you
With the pandemic of COVID19 and many lockdowns restrictions, Online Schools in South Africa are booming with opportunities. While Homeschooling can be confused with Online Schooling, both methods of learning are gaining popularity amongst parents. Online Schools do not need the parent to be the teacher.

The children will have a full schedule as per a timetable and attend live classes conducted buy a qualified teacher on their digital devices. The classes are recorded for further reference or if the child missed the class.
2. Select and register with preferred online school
There are very particular things that parents assess when they pick a school for their children. The same methodology one would use when opting for a traditional physical school, namely, the quality of the schools' teaching methods, class sizes or Online School fees.
Once these objectives have been met, registering for an online school is much easier, click on enrol to see an example of the enrolment page.
You will need the following documents ready to attach:
· Parent / Guardian's ID
· Learner's Photo
· Learner's Previous School Report
3. Have a device to work on (e.g. laptop, computer, or tablet)
A devise such as a computer, laptop or a tablet will be required. This device will have to be available for use to the children at all times, for their classes and homework. Smartphones are not recommended due to their size.

4. Secure reliable internet access
A home base fibre network and unlimited wifi access are preferable. As much as data is an expensive problem in South Africa, most companies like Rain and Telkom offer very affordable unlimited access to the internet. Enquire with the telecommunications companies in your area, available in your complex and area of residence.
5. Allocate a dedicated learning space in the home for lessons with a desk and chair
As much as parents had to turn the dining table into an office desk, since working from home, your children will have to be set on a dedicated area in the house for their schooling time.
