Facebook Shop setup is a pain

Updated: Oct 23, 2021

But we did it......in a week for our e-commerce client. These might be the only Facebook shop Guidelines you need.

Okay, let's start with how to create a Facebook shop. We hope you find facebook shop setup tips and how to get an approved Facebook shop on this journey we are sharing.

So we have a client that has just launched an online make-up store and wanted us (Wink Affects) to manage their social media platforms.

As a digital strategist, there is no way you can manage social media platforms for e-commerce without putting in all the plugins and settings the platforms need. Be that the client has asked for them or not, it is a crucial step.

Now I would rather the client have a Facebook and Instagram Shop than daily posts, and that is what I set to do first; well, it was my first, too.

See the fantastic Facebook shop examples attached throughout the article.

Okay, click on Facebook shop set up and think I am just three steps away from running and integrated. Oh boy, was I wrong......

The important thing about the shop settings would be the Facebook shop inventory, like how you would load your stock onto a shop to nicely sit in the shelves/aisle

Suppose you have less than 10 items to add to your Facebook shop catalogue. In that case, you can do this manually or choose three more Facebook shop upload methods.

I used the document upload method to download a Facebook Shop template to fill the items as per Facebook Shop rules. Formats Allowed are google docs, CVS or excel.

Now filling the document and making sure the items, currencies and descriptions are correct is another monster.

However, you can check your upload's requirements, and Facebook will let you know of all Facebook shop upload errors and what you need to fix, then you have to reload. If you don't get it right the first and second time, you will have to repeat this cycle about 10 times.

Ok now that we got that right, are we live yet? Nope. You have to go through a whole process of approval and re-loads and then some.

Once all seems promising, you have to wait some days for all your Facebook shop products to be uploaded entirely and approved.

You then have to verify that you own the e-commerce website set as your landing page. You can breathe a little sigh of relief as the Facebook shop integration to Instagram Shop is a breeze, and your customers can start to seamlessly shop.

The Best thing about this integration is that every post you do on your products is an advert. And buying becomes easier for your potential customers. The Facebook Shop gives you the ability to inspire your customers and help them find the right products for them. Facebook Shops are simple to set up, seamless to use, load faster relative to a mobile website, and global in scale.

This was one challenging and yet fun task; we would love to do it again. Yes, Facebook Shop is worth it. Let us set up your Facebook Shop.
