Johannesburg, South Africa – MANGO celebrated the opening of its new store with an exclusive in-store event held on Thursday 20th of February 2020.
Taking inspiration from MANGO’s new “Shared Moments” Far Shepherds Scotland campaign, the event’s décor and concept greeted guests which included industry creatives, media, MANGO Girls and friends of the brand. Event attendees were treated to an array of roaming Spanish inspired vegan/vegetarian canapés and signature welcoming cocktails. Event activations included a bespoke photo opportunity designed by Botanicus, adorned with the brand ethos “Mango Loves South Africa” that guests were invited to interact and photograph with. Organic architecture, floral installations, furniture and monochromatic hues framed the imagery and encapsulated MANGO all in one space.
As the evening drew to a close, customized Botanicus floral bouquets were wrapped in branded paper and trimmed in a ribbon of the guest’s choice as a keepsake. Guests included Lerato Kgamanyane, Aart Verrips, Carissa Cupido, Jessica van Heerden, Simone Nortmann and #MangoGirls influencers Wijdan Arendse-Hendricks, Amy Scheepers and Keneilwe Mothoa.
For the event, Arendse-Hendricks wore an Office suit in Rust and Vanessa sweater in black. Her outfit was accessorized with a Coca bag and Knoty heels in black from the Fall’20 collection. Also from the Fall’20 collections, Mothoa wore a Matata Structured Lapel blazer in black, Pocket T-shirt in camel and the Legend Check Tweed miniskirt in beige. Her outfit was accessorized with the Heel leather ankle boot and Desert pearl earrings. Scheepers wore a Sema Sweater in Light beige and Seyma jeans in medium beige. Her outfit was accessorized with a Knot bag, Pofu ankle boots both in black and Kibo earrings.
Friends of MANGO are invited to join the conversation using the hashtag #MangoLovesSouthAfrica. The new Mango store is located in Sandton City, one of the most prestigious shopping centres in South Africa, and its interior reflects the brand interior aesthetic by fusing materials such as marble, concrete, wood and natural accents with a modern design.
