Filmfinity is thrilled to announce that Robert De Niro’s “The War with Grandpa”, which debuted on 9 October 2020 in U.S will be landing on SA’s big screens on 30 October 2020. This hilarious big screen box office hit quickly took over ‘Tenet’ in the U.S. with a gross of $3.6 million, marking one of the first new releases since March to usher in a crowd!

The film is packed with an all-star cast including two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro, Oscar winner Christopher Walken, Oscar nominee Uma Thurman and is directed by Tim Hill – the writer and producer of kiddies classic, SpongeBob SquarePants.

The War with GrandPa- A comedy for the whole family

Storyline

Their comes a time in all our lives where grandma and/or grandpa need to accept that they can no longer live alone and in this hilarious family-comedy film, Sally (Uma Thurman), has the tough job of convincing grandpa (Robert De Niro) to come stay with them in their home.

As far as most grandparent / grandchild relationships go, Peter (Oakes Fegley) and his grandpa (Robert De Niro) were pretty close; until Grandpa Jack moves in with the family and Peter is forced to give up his most prized possession: his bedroom. The events that ensue leads Peter down a path of mischievous destruction.

Peter will stop at nothing to get his room back from his grandpa, scheming with friends to come up with a series of crafty pranks to drive him out. Grandpa – on the other hand, won’t give up that easily, and turns this little spat into an all-out war between the two providing perfect entertainment and laughs for the whole family.

The War With Grandpa releases in cinemas nationwide on 30 October 2020.
